Scope and Contents
The Franklin L. Thomas papers span the years 1909-1949. They contain assorted writings by the author, including typescripts and holograph copies of poems, anecdotes, short stories, and novel manuscripts. Also included are photographs, rejection letters from publications Thomas submitted his work to, and a printed volume of poetry, Rhymes from Idaho (Parma, Idaho: 1942).

Biographical / Historical
Franklin Leontine Thomas was born in Wolcott, Indiana on October 29, 1868 to Cicero Franklin Thomas and Eliza Jane Halstead. In December of 1890, he married Amie Alice Wright. Some time after, he moved to Parma, Idaho, where he worked on his writing, including poetry, short stories, and novel manuscripts. In 1942, his poetry book, Rhymes from Idaho, was published by The Parma Review. Thomas died in Parma, Idaho on November 12, 1964 at the age of 97. He was buried in Parma Cemetery, Idaho.
