Biographical / Historical
The National Society of Pershing Rifles is a military-oriented honor society for college-level students founded in 1894 as a drill unit at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. It is the oldest continuously operating US college organization dedicated to military drill....Towards the start of the First World War, membership declined and the society was suspended. It was reorganized in 1919, as an organization for junior officers. Pershing Rifles regained its status as a fraternal organization for ROTC basic course cadets.
