Stanley J. Lada was stationed in Riggins, Idaho during his time in the Civilian Conservation Corps. After his stint in this, he joined the military during World War Two. This collection contains a pay envelope and voucher booklet belonging to Stanley J. Lada from CCC Co. 3275 in Riggins, Idaho. It also includes 2 postcards addressed to Lada.

Biographical / Historical

Stanley Joseph Lada was born on Febraury 17, 1919. Not much is known about his early life, but at some point Lada joined the Civilian Conversation Corps (C.C.C.). In 1940 he was stationed in Pollock, Idaho two miles south of Riggins. His company number was 3275, project F-107. This camp eventually closed in 1941.

After his time in the C.C.C., Lada enlisted in the U.S. Military on April 7, 1941. He served in the 628th Tank Destroyer Battalion, Comapny A, 4th Armored Division of the U.S. Army. While in Germany, Lada suffered from life threatening wounds and died on November 4, 1944.
