Biographical / Historical

William Cloud Moore was born on January 28, 1909 in Clearfield, Iowa. He attended the University of Idaho in 1926, graduating four years later. After graduation he became a teacher and worked in U of I's School of Business. During this time Moore also worked for the Social Security and public employment systems, and was an economic consultant. When World War II ended, he returned to Moscow, Idaho and was director of the Latah County Grain Growers, vice preisdent of the Washington and Idaho wheat associations, and president of the Idaho Cooperative Council. Moore served as a senator from Latah County from 1947-1948 and 1951-1954. He then returned to the University of Idaho until his retirement in 1974. Moore died on April 1, 1987.
