Kristin C. Becker is an artist who lives in Moscow, Idaho. After an art project with a local first grade class, she completed twenty-one silkscreen prints of downtown Moscow. This collection contains nineteen prints and two postcards of her work.

Biographical / Historical

Kristin Carlson Becker is a Moscow, Idaho based artist and writer. In 2003, Kristin completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design. The she completed her Master of Fine Arts in Printmaking from Indiana University in 2010. From 2010 to 2021, Kristin was a faculty member of the Digitial Technology and Culture program at Washington State University, Pullman, Washington. She also worked as the Education Coordinator for the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (WSU) and is currently the Curator of Education and Programs for the museum.

In 2012, Kritin visited downtown Moscow with the Palouse Prairie School of Expeditionary Learning's first grade class. The art project was to create drawings of what the downtown buildings looked like and what they used to look like in the past. The class learned not only skills in art, but also the history of the Moscow community. This project inspired Kristin to create her own images using silkscreen prints. In June 2013, these were showcased in an exhibit called "Making Main Street: Buildings in Transition" which was a feature in the City of Moscow's Art Walk.
