Biographical / Historical

Ethelbert Patterson Oliphant was a judge of the supreme court of Washington Terrioty from 1861 to 1865. He attended and graduated from Jefferson College (now known as Washington and Jefferson College). At the time, Washington territory included what is now the state of Idaho. This made Oliphant the first judge to hold court within the present limits of Idaho.
