Scope and Contents
Hazel Miriam Morrow was a student at the Unviersity of Idaho in the early 1900s. She was called to active duty as a nurse in the United States Military during the first World War. This collection includes letters and documents about Idaho's territorial governors and the 1889 Idaho constitutional convention.

Biographical / Historical
Hazel Miriam Morrow was born on September 12, 1885 to James and Melvira Morrow in Challis, Idaho. Morrow was a student at the Unviersity of Idaho from 1904 to 1908. During her time at the university she was a member of the English Club, Beta Sigma, the Argonaut Staff, the Tennis Association, and participated in campus theater. She held the highest scholastic record at U of I for ten years. Due to ill health, Morrow left the university her senior year without finishing her degree. Morrow eventually earned her training at the Johns Hoplins Training School for Nurses in Baltimore, Maryland.
In January of 1918 she was called into active service for the U.S. Military. That same year she was in charge of a Red Cross hospital at Camp Funston, Kansas. Morrow was relieved from active duty on March 30, 1919. She eventually married Harry Campbell Shellworth. Hazel Miriam Morrow died on August 1, 1966 in Boise, Idaho.
