This collection includes a telegram, Oct. 5, 1892, offering Milliken the position of director of the University of Idaho agricultural experiment stations; a portrait of Milliken; some Idaho Agricultural Experiment station bulletins; a letter from Helen Milliken Payne to D.R. Theophilus, Apr. 28, 1962, donating the collection to the university; and other miscellaneous materials on the founding of the university and the donation of this collection.

Biographical / Historical
Robert Milliken served as the University of Idaho Agricultural Experimental Station Director from 1892 to 1893. In 1892, after establishing the home station in Moscow, the board created three research facilities in Grangeville, Idaho Falls, and Nampa. These branch stations were closed in 1896. Research units were opened at other locations in later years.
