Lyle M. Rowell scrapbook
Content Description
Lyle M. Rowell attended the University of Idaho from 1912 to about 1915. His scrapbook contains photographs from his time spent at U of I. Many are of students and campus events. Other materials include event invitations and dance cards. There are also photographs and papers from when Rowell served in the United States National Guard.

Biographical / Historical
Lyle Marshall Rowell was born on May 15, 1888 to John and Joyce Rowell in Rutkuen, Iowa.
He attended the University of Idaho in 1912. Rowell was a member of the first military organization at U of I. He served in Company "A" first as a corporal. He was also a member of Phi Delta Theta. He also served in the U.S. National Guard, Army Troops, 116 Cavalry and the Corps of Engineers. He left the National Guard as a Major.
Lyle M. Rowell died on April 9, 1947.
