Nancy Atkinson was a cataloging librarian at the University of Idaho Library for more than twenty years. This collection includes various certificates and Atkinson's correspondences. It also includes a scrapbook given to her as a gift from her co-workers.

Biographical / Historical

Nancy Ida Atkinson was born on December 9, 1906 to Frank W. and Olivia Lang Atkinson in Detroit, Michigan. She grew up in Detroit and graduated from Liggett University School (high school). She later attended Mills College in California and the University of Michigan, eventually completing her degree in librarianship.

Atkinson moved to Moscow in 1943, and accepted a cataloging position at the University of Idaho. She worked at the university library until her retirement in 1972. Atkinson passed away on May 16, 2004 in Moscow, Idaho.
