Content Description

The papers consist of a scrapbook with university memorabilia, mainly dance programs, but also including programs for cultural events, invitations, one letter, and printed broadsides. Also included is a series of six letters written to him by Freda between June 27th and July 16th, 1928, while he was a forest lookout in Superior, Montana, and two unidentified photographs.

Biographical / Historical

Clarence H. Sample, of Meridian, Idaho, attended the University of Idaho from 1925 to 1930. He was a member of the Beta Chi fraternity, the Inter-Collegiate Knights,, the Glee club, and the Associated Engineers. He graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1930 and worked for the International Nickel Company. He died in New York State in June of 1987.
