Biographical / Historical
Duke Silver was the stage persona of jazz musician Ron Swanson, a native of Pawnee, Indiana. He was best known as the leader of the Duke Silver Trio, with whom he played the tenor saxophone. He identifed Coltrane, Getz, and Foreigner as his musical influences. Silver released three albums; Smooth as Silver (2004); Hi-Ho, Duke! (2007); and Memories... of Now (2009).
