Hispanic Oral History Project interviews
Content Description
This collection contains 21 interviews conducted in 1991 with Hispanic immigrants and descendents of immigrants in Idaho. The interviews are held on 36 audio cassettes, seven of the interviews have transcript indexes. Also, included with the collection are personal data forms of participants.
Participants in the project discuss topics including, how they (or their families) came to Idaho, family and social life, and work.
The project originally interviewed 22 participants, however during the copying process, the Idaho Humanities Council was unable to duplicate the interview of J. Asuncion Perez (number 10) according to a letter from the Council in 1992.

Biographical / Historical
In 1991, the Hispanic Oral History Project interviewed 22 Hispanic immigrants and descendents of immigrants who lived in Idaho. 21 of the interviews are held by the University of Idaho Special Collections and Archive. One interview was not able to be duplicated by the Idaho Humanities Council. The project was sponsored by the Idaho Humanities Council, the Ethnic Heritage Committee of the Idaho Centennial Commission, and the Idaho Commission on Hispanic Affairs and resulted in the publication of the book Voces hispanas = Hispanic voices of Idaho.
