Biographical / Historical

Silver City, Idaho is a mining ghost town located in Southwestern Idaho two hours outside of Boise. It was founded when prospectors heading Oregan found gold and later silver in the area. At its peak it had a population of around 2,500 people. It is estimated that $60,000,000 worth of gold and silver were mined at Silver City not accounting for current gold and silver prices.

Jordan Valley, Oregon is in Malheur County, Oregon along Jordan Creek part of the Owyhee River. The river was name after a 19th-century prospector, Michael M. Jordan. In 2020, it had a population of 130. Northern Paiute inhabited the area, and gold was discovered in 1863. Basque immigrants began arriving in the valley around 1889.
