Scope and Contents

This collection consists of one silent, black and white home video 11 minutes and 9 seconds long, sent to Special Collections and Archives as a digital file. It relates primarily to the Murphy family. Charles W. Murphy, Jr., graduated from the University of Idaho in 1941. He joined the Army and was killed during the Battle of Kwajalein in the Pacific Theater in 1944. Frank Murphy, his younger brother, also attended the University of Idaho and served in the Army during World War II.

Abstract

11-minute silent video of events on and around the University of Idaho campus, roughly 1939-1941. Scenes include a baseball game, an event that may be a Mother's Day celebration or graduation, the University of Idaho campus, a plane crash at 3rd and Asbury in downtown Moscow, driving down the old Lewiston grade, and views of Moscow.
