Biographical / Historical
AARP formerly the American Association of Retired Persons which was an interest lobby group in the United States that focuses on the issues affecting those over the age of fifty and was concerned with economic issues including the financing of Social Security, cost of living, and Medicare. AARP is now a nonpartisan nonprofit that continues to advocate for the federal and fiscal issues of older Americans. AARP has approximately 800 local chapters across the US. AARP Chapter 678 is Latah County’s ID local chapter.
