Scope and Contents
The Anchor Group Records span the years 1935-1941. They contain correspondence between Henry L. Day and colleagues, as well as reports concerning the management of a lead-silver mine near Murray, Idaho. The collection also includes financial records and diagrams of mine sections.

Biographical / Historical
The Anchor Group is an underground mine located near Murray in Shoshone County, Idaho. The mine was discovered by Dan Daugherty, and it includes one known shaft, with a maximum depth of 3,000 feet for subsurface mining. Materials extracted from the mine include lead, silver, copper, gold, and zinc. The mine is located within the Northern Rocky Mountain physiographic province and has a host rock of quartzite. The Anchor Group is the mine’s historical name; at present it is known as Anchor Mine and Buckskin Gold and Silver.
