Biographical / Historical

Charles Gelbach conducted a prosperous enterprise in the handling of furniture, rugs, draperies and other house furnishings. He was also the able and popular incumbent of the office of postmaster of the town. He was one of the vigorous and public-spirited citizens of Idaho county, ever ready to lend his influence in the furtherance of projects advanced for the general good of the community, and zealous in exploiting the advantages and attractions of the state of is adoption. Gelbach was born 11 January 1863 in Lancaster, Wisconsin. He married Nellie Jeffries in Grangeville, Idaho in 1896. He died 9 August 1922 in Long Beach, California.
