Biographical / Historical

Nakia Williamson-Cloud is a member of the Nez Perce Nation and is the director of the Cultural Resources Progam of the Nez Perce Tribe and an indigenous artist that focuses on painting and traditional forms of art. Williamson-Cloud has done paintings for the Nez Perce National Historical Park that document historic Nez Perce battles and the first encounter of Lewis and Clark. WIlliamson-Cloud was born and raised on his family's original allotment and his Nez Perce family are descendants of the Dickson family of the lower Snake River. He currently lives in Lapwai, ID.
