Biographical / Historical
The American Association of University Professors was founded in 1915, and remains in operation, committed to “advance academic freedom... define professional fundamental values and standards for higher education...”. The University of Idaho boasted an AAUP chapter for several years, ending in their censure over tenure practices in 1983, to which they would never restart another chapter, leaving Idaho State University to be the only chapter in Idaho today.
