Biographical / Historical
Mary Evelyn Walker Eldridge was born in Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan on Jan 12, 1876. She died in New Jersey in July 1949 at the age of 74 and was buried in Moscow, Idaho. She died of pneumonia caused from a complication resulting from a stroke suffered a month before. Her husband Jay Glover Eldridge was the Dean of the Faculty and College Professor of Modern Languages at the University of Idaho. Jay Glover was also the president of the Moscow Choral Society from 1930 to 1931, a leader in the regional Presbyterian Church organization, and Grand master of the Masonic Lodge in Idaho. They had three children together, Hugh W., Grace Berigan, and Robert.
