Scope and Contents

The W.R. Crawford Papers span the years 1917-1935 and consist of nineteen folders of assorted documents and four journals. Documents in the collection include newspaper clippings, correspondence between W.R. Crawford (Weddle Bar Mining Company) and various companies in the Western United States, correspondence with stockholders, freight shipping receipts, financial forms, legal agreements, minutes of directors’ meetings for the Columbia River-Puget Sound Natural Gas Company, stock records for the Columbia River Puget Sound Natural Gas Company, and a portrait photograph of five unidentified people. The four journals in the collection contain stock certificates for Dredge Syndicate Mining Company and various finance and account records. Topical focus of the collection centers around the business agreements and finances of Weddle Bar Mining Company and other companies in the area.

Biographical / Historical

Walter R. Crawford was born in 1872. He was employeed and worked for various mines and mining corportaions in the Pacific Northwest, including the Weddle Bar Mining Company in Riggins. He lived in Moscow, Idaho and Kennewick, Washington for a number of years. He died in 1944 and was buried in Moscow, Idaho.

The W.R. Crawford Papers span the years 1917-1935 and consist of nineteen folders and four journals containing account records, stock certificates, shipping receipts, legal agreements, and business correspondence between W.R. Crawford (Weddle Mining Bar Company) and various companies in the Western United States. The collection also includes miscellaneous newspaper clippings and a portrait photograph of five unidentified people.

Arrangement

The first fifteen folders in the collection contain an assortment of document types (correspondence, receipts, newspaper clippings, etc.) Folders 16-19 contain more specific contents and are titled accordingly.
