Biographical / Historical

The Genesee Union Warehouse Company was founded in 1908, by a group of farmers in the area that were granted a charter by the Farmer’s Education and Cooperative Union of America, under the name Genesee Farmers Union Warehouse Company, Limited. In 1944, they would rename themselves officially to Genesee Union Warehouse Company, and then later would be merged with Whitman County Growers into Pacific Northwest Farmer’s Cooperative.
