Biographical / Historical
Adam Aulbach was born 25 December 1844 in Belleville, Illinois. He began working in newspapers at the St. Louis Republic. He began publishing the Coeur d’Alene Sun (located in Murray, Idaho) on 4 January 1895, and would continue to publish the paper until 1912, the last edition being released on 28 September 1912. Aulbach would continue to be a prominent figure in the area, publishing for the Idaho Press and the Wallace Sun. Aulbach was also heavily invovled in the mining industry around Murray, including owning the Murray water plant. He served a term in the state legislature in 1905 in the House of Represetatives and was also mayor of Murray at one point. Aulbach died in Murray on the 9 June 1933.
