The material in this collection belonged primarily to Fred H. Saylor and includes scrapbooks with vast information about the history of Oregon from 1600 to the mid-20 century. Includes 12 vol. of pictures, pieces of magazines, newspapers, maps and articles. Also includes myths, legends, and traditions of the Native Races of America. Scrapbooks contains articles on pioneer Oregon history, Indian myths, legends and traditions, poetry, post cards, and other illustrations.

Biographical / Historical
Frederick H. Saylor was a collector of Native American legends and writer of articles for pioneer publications. He wrote and collected stories and ephemera regarding myths, legends, and traditions of native peoples of the Pacific Northwest and California.
