Biographical / Historical
Lewis Seward Prater was born 23 June 1915 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to Lewis and Eliza Prater. He married Clara McCoy on 26 June 1936 in Butte, Montana where he was attending the Montana School of Mines. Following graduation, he was employeed by the Republic Steel Company in Chicago, Illinois. Then they moved to Moscow where Prater was employeed by the Idaho Bureau of Mines and Geology. Lewis S. Prater died 19 June 2000 in Moscow, Idaho.
