Biographical / Historical
Father George F. Weibel served at the St. Joseph Mission. He would later serve at the St Aloysious Parish School and Paint honue. Father Weibel was born in France around 1869 and arrived in the United States in 1889. Father Weibel would serve as the Historican for Gonzaga University. He was a member of the Society of Jesus.
The St. Joseph Mission was established by Father Cataldo as the site of the first Roman Catholic mission to serve the Nez Perce people. It is today a National Park Site and is located near Culdesac, Idaho. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
