Biographical / Historical
Wayne Oliver Mackenzie was born 22 January 1917 in Whitman County, Washington near Riparia. He lived in various places in Eastern Washington including Highland and Uniontown. He was ordained by The United Church of Canada by BC Confernce in 1958. MacKenzie served charges in Alert Bay, Bamfield, North Kamloops, Enderby, Squamish, and Revelstoke. He retired in 1976 and served the church at Kaslo as retired supply. He was a skipper of the "Robert C. Scott" and pilot of a Cessna as part of his marine mission work of the Church. MacKenzie died in 2000 and was buried in Nelson Memorial Park, Nelson, British Columbia, Canada.
