Biographical / Historical

Reverend John Henderson Dills was born 14 September 1866 in Pearisburg, Virginia. He first came West in 1902 and was stationed as a pastor in Spokane at the Corbin Park Methodist Church. He would homestead with his family outside of what is today New Meadows, Idaho in 1904. Between 1913 and 1941, he worked with the Nez Perce peoples at the Souther Methodist Mission in Lapwai, Idaho. Dills died 5 December 1956 in Abingdon, Virginia. He was buried in the Pioneer Memorial Gardens in Moses Lake, Washington.
