Biographical / Historical
Ernst Athearn Bessey was a botanist, plant pathologist, and mycologist. He served as a professor of mycology and botany and dean of the graduate school at Michigan State University. He also worked with the United States Department of Agriculture at various times and Louisiana State University. He was a key member of the Seminarium Botanicum club at the University of Nebraska.
