Regional Archives Group 1971-1973, 1972
Content Description
This collection consists of files including correspondence together with lists, notes, forms, minutes and related papers. The material documents efforts to form a regional organization of archivists, manuscript curators, and others who work with primary source material. An organizational meeting was held in April 1973 to create an informal organization call NWAG, pronounced 'no wag.' It relied on David Horn's newsletter, The New Archivist, to share information among participants. A project was begun by NWAG that year to report new accessions of members' institutions to the newsletter. At the April 1974 meeting, the organization's name was changed to Northwest Archivists and a more formal structure was approved.
