Scope and Contents
The Gary L. Bennett papers span the years 1963-2024 and consist of various technical aerospace papers written or co-written by Gary L. Bennett for popular science magazines, academic journals, aerospace conferences and congresses, and government departments. Notable publishers of materials include the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the American Institute of Physics, among others. Topically, many papers focus on space nuclear power and propulsion. The collection also included a copy of Bennett’s Washington State University doctoral thesis; records of honors and awards presented to Bennett; a copy of the science fiction novel, The Star Sailors; two VHS tapes featuring selected briefings by Bennett; and other materials.
