Scrapbooks and Ephemera

 Series
Identifier: III

Scope and Contents

The Leonard Feather scrapbooks include his letters to editors, articles, interviews and reviews, as well as published responses to these writings (as in readers’ letters to the editor commenting on Feather’s work). Also included are reviews of his books and records. One scrapbook is dedicated to Feather's “Blindfold Test” from Metronome and DownBeat magazines, December 1946-January 1952. There are also three additional albums. Two of these contain jazz ephemera: programs, flyers, booklets and the like. Many of these jazz programs (i.e., the musical performances) were produced by Feather. A third contains letters to Leonard Feather from several jazz artists.
