From the Collection:

The majority of the collection is 35 mm negatives with contact sheets. There are some larger-sized negatives and prints as well. It is organized alphabetically by subject, with some unsorted or not clearly labeled images at the end. The photos were taken by or for the U of I Publications department. Only a few images have photographer information, some of which were taken by Leo Ames.

Second series includes photographs, negatives, contact sheets, papers, and slides.

20 negatives : Transcript on back of contact sheet: #11-20 “Idaho, with its vast forests and advanced forest industry, becomes a training ground for wood scientists around the world. Manoel Sobrel of Brazil and Won Yung Ahn of Korea, wood technology graduate assistants in the University of Idaho College of Forestry, Wildlife and Range Sciences, use the college’s conditioning chambers to maintain constant moisture content in chipboard samples. Samples from the chamber are measured and weighed to determine changes in length, thickness and weight caused by the accumulation of moisture.”
