At the time, he was the lead reporter for the Idaho Statesman regarding a series of stories published between August and December 2007. Dan Popkey was/is a long time political reporter in Idaho. He worked primarily for the Idaho Statesman. He also worked as press secretary for Senator Raúl Labrador.
