Provenance
Milas Hinshaw was born around 1873 near Woolson, Iowa. His family lived near Windsor, North Carolina before homesteading near Greenleaf, Idaho in 1908. His homestead would include an apple orchard and the family appeared to be very prominent in local happenings. Following Milas death, his sons (H. Corwin and Ezra B.) took over the farm and the materials in this collection are primarily the correspondence between them and the property managers as they did not live near the farm. The documents were kept in the attic of the farm house and were saved by family. They were then sent to Dorothy Hinshaw Patent to be dealt with. Dorothy then contacted Special Collections to see if we were interested in them.
